It’s deeply troubling to see Abigail Spanberger refuse to clearly condemn a school board candidate who exchanged sympathetic emails with a convicted sex offender over use of girls’ restrooms and locker rooms. 
If our leaders won’t draw firm lines, what message does that send to parents? When a public official is unwilling to affirm the basic protection of girls’ spaces, we lose the ability to trust that children will be safe in schools. Spanberger’s statements reveal nothing more than political hedging — insisting she supports “safety” while refusing to answer the simplest question: Will you keep males out of female-only facilities?  We deserve stronger leadership. If Spanberger can’t stand up for girls’ safety when it’s this clear-cut, how can we trust her to protect broader rights and liberties?
